On this last Monday of the month, we are covering the last region in our regional gardening series, the Southeast Region of the U.S. Every Monday we cover a different region.
Today’s region covers from the Southeastern tip of Texas through Virginia. If you are planning what to do in your garden or lawn this month, check out the tips below.
Landscaping Tips
- Continue to mow your lawn at the following recommended heights by the Old Farmer’s Almanac,
- St. Augustine and Bahia: 3 to 4 inches
- Centipede: 1.5 to 2 inches
- Dwarf St. Augustine: 2.5 inches.
- When mowing your lawn, a good rule of thumb is to mow frequently and only take about 1/3 off the top.
- Water your lawn either in the mornings or at dawn for best results. This gives the grass enough time to drink in the good water before the sun dries it up.
