Planting Beets

Pick a spot in the garden that has full sun and well-drained soil. Organic Garden recommends working the ground up to 10 inches in the spot you plan to plant the beets. Keep the seeds about 1/2 to 1 inch apart and the rows need to be about 12-18 inches apart.

When the plants start to grow, thin them and leave approximately 2 to 4 inches between plants. If you will be allowing the plants to grow larger, you may want to thin them further apart.

The next step is to install aeration tubes. An aeration tube is a direct to root watering system that is scientifically proven to increase the growth of roots and we all know strong roots means strong beets. Rootwell’s Rootsticks are a perfect choice for aeration tubes.

Whether you put beets on your salad or add them to your next cleanse, they are worth your time to grow and to eat. What is your favorite way to eat beets? Please let us know it the comment section below.
