  • A few examples of lacecap hydrangeas are rough-left hydrangea, spreading beauty, and blue bunny.

Hydrangeas Planting Tips

  • Pick a spot in the garden where the hydrangea can receive full sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon.
  • Dig a hole that is as deep as the root ball and at least 2 times as wide.
  • After the hole is dug put the hydrangea in the hole and only fill in half of the hole with soil.
  • Water the hole thoroughly.
  • Fill the rest of the hole with soil.
  • Water thoroughly again.

  • Hydrangeas need a lot of water, especially at first. Even with the extra water needed hydrangeas are worth it.
  • If you are having trouble getting enough water to your hydrangeas, consider installing aeration tubes.
  • Pick out an aeration tube that comes in a shrub or plant size. Aeration tubes have been scientifically proven to encourage deep root growth and above ground growth.
